| What kind of computer do you have (how old is it)? The OS version? Are you plugging directly into a USB port on the computer, or into an external hub which is itself plugged into a USB port on the computer? Are you using the small cable that came with MJ? Have you tried it without the cable?

Also, if in windows, have you checked "My Computer" for drive letters? If there are none, do you see drive letters with a thumb drive or external hard drive (if you have one)? |

| reply to LovingMyFIOS Please clarify "WON'T recognize USB drives" - what won't? The magicJack, or your computer?
Here's something from my experience so far:
On my system, if I plugged the magicJack in first, my system wouldn't notice when I next plugged in a USB flash drive. But if I first plugged flash devices into all but one socket first, the magicJack was happy to stay related to a higher drive letter, leaving the lower drive letters available.
My magicJack takes up two drive letters, one for a tiny "virtual" cd drive, and the operating system isn't always very bright.
Hope this helps! |

| reply to LovingMyFIOS make sure the light is on the magic jack is blue.
second; open up your My Computer icon, it should recognize the device as a storage device like a hard drive, which would be something like F: or G: drive, see if thats there.
make sure you got your USB drivers installed to, sometimes those USB ports can be pesky. |

| I had USB issues on my notebook. I found this fix, »support.microsoft.com/kb/925196 and it worked.
I've actually had this happen on 2 machines and this fixed both instances. This is a fix on XP. Don't know about any other O/S. |

| reply to LovingMyFIOS I got my Magicjack about 1 month ago and was a little put out about the shipping charges but I figured if I saved enough on my phone bill it would make it worth while. I didn't discontinue my cable [hone service right away as I was not sure how well Magicjack would work. That was my first mistake. After I cancelled my cable phone service the majicjack worked just fine. I'm not very good with tech stuff but got help from my teenager. This is so super. No more phone bills, I'm lovin it! There is a few second delay in making the connection for incomming and outgoing calls but the huge savings are way worth it. You do have to leave your computer on but I just turn off the monitor thats what many small business do anyway. I do wish there were some printed directions for use that would come with the product, it would make use so much easier for an oldtimer like me but I'm learning as go. I love it that incoming calls show up on the computer screen but do miss caller id on the cordless phone for when I'm out in the yard with the phone. |
