Cheap car insurance?

Does anyone know any good cheap car insurance places? If so do they give quotes over the phone?

@dsl.look.ca

»www.pcfinancial.ca/

»www.belairdirect.com/regionselect.html

These guys both give quotes over the web or the phone and they're pretty much among the cheapest around.

I've done business with both of them and currently am insured by PCFinancial...

"Sorry, we aren't able to give you a quote online because your driving profile is complex. Please complete a mail-in application so that it can be reviewed by an insurance expert."

I'm an 18 year old male driving a sports car. I didn't think that I was that uncommon.

Oh wait, 0 tickets.

@dsl.look.ca

I'm a 52 year old male paying $860 a year in Mississauga. MY insurance is not complex or risky...

An 18 year old male driving a hot rod? Forget about looking for cheap. Don't be surprised if they quote ridiculous numbers and suggest you end up going somewhere else...

CAA has some of the lowest rates. Go to »www.kanetics.ca to compare online quotes. CAA gave me exactly the same price by phone that was quoted online.

I've been with Belair Direct for years and no one seems to be able to beat them on price. I've even gone to brokers and they couldn't beat the price. I had one claim about 8 years ago and it was handled very well.

I was with Belair Direct for about 5 years until I tried a quote from President's Choice Financial...

They quoted me over $100 less a year...

In theory I could try Gray Power now, but it doesn't look good to switch companies too often and I doubt they could save me much more...

Seriously I'm thinking the only way I could save any more on insurance these days is to move out to the boonies or to a province with no fault, gov't subsidized insurance...

I got and online quote for just 5700 a year which is about 450 each month. Wow this looks like the lowest im going to be offered. I thought older cars are cheaper insurance?

happylurk

@dsl.look.ca

YOU ARE AN EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD MALE!!!

You are POISON to any insurance company....

That is simply the fact of the matter...

If you really wanna save a bundle on your insurance move out of Ontario to Quebec or Manitoba or one of the other provinces that subsidizes no fault insurance for young drivers for a few years til you turn at least 25...

Otherwise, you're gonna have to live with $400 plus a month insurance premiums...

As sure as God made little green apples...

$450 a month for insurance? Wow. I'm paying about $112 a month for 2 cars. I'm 40 though.

I pay $107/month for full coverage with accident forgiveness and a bunch of other perks for my XG350 through Belair Direct, but I am also a 7-star driver with a clean record.

An 18-year old driving a sports car? That's just asking for trouble, and insurance companies know this. Here's a bit of advice - get an 18-year old Ford, you (or your parents, probably) might then be able to afford to insure it, but it'll still be $2000-$3000/year.

Haha, not an old Honda. Insurance companies aren't stupid, they know anyone your age driving an old Honda is going to do something to the engine and put a trashcan onto the tailpipe. A Ford or Chevy from the same era would cost you half as much.
