Re: Cheap car insurance? the last two cars i purchased privately, they went off the receipts, by i suppose an 87 four cylinder mustang and a 92 Grand Marquis don't really attract any attention...had i purchased a 2 year old BMW M3 for $2500, i think they would be rather suspicious.

Hahaha well you can't be an idiot about it  Now, a buddy of mine purchased a 2003 Prelude a while back and the guy put around half the book value on the receipt. The license bureau still used the receipt value, even though it was something just about anyone would find fishy.

Oh, I should also point out that in the case of my Topaz, the Used Vehicle Information Sheet listed the book value as $2000. No one there cared. Total crapshoot, depends on the person and the mood they're in. |

23 with a '99 Acura TL (it has some kick to it) paying $1800/year through Johnson Insurance. They beat Bel-air for me, and were the lowest around. And I'm the sole insurer.
The web apps can be sketchy. Calling really is the best thing to do.
I didn't take the time to read alllll the posts. But don't forget about academic standing if it wasn't mentioned. I get a reduction if I maintain a 70+ average. I think I also get something just for being in university, but I don't recall.

some insurance companies also offer group rates or discounts (like a corporate rate) if you are a member of an organization or work for specific companies.
