Thanks for the advice!

Do either of you have any ideas what the cost might be to replace a convergence circuit or one of the guns?

Thanks!

Tim
Might be cheaper to buy a new set. Depending on how old it is. You can buy one now for under $1000.

the convergence circuit has failed.
the same voltage supply path that drives the "jungle" is shared with the convergence and has "opened" as a result of the shorted convergence amplifiers.
the "jungle" is what processes the picture for display.
if the picture has good colors, brightnes and contrast when it was working, then it is worth repair.
the convergence circuit is what converges and corrects the geometric distortion on the screen from the result of projecting each color tube (red, green & blue) to a mirror and then to the screen.

My uncle has one of these CRT projection TVs. Yesterday morning, a bunch of colors flashed on the screen and now there is no picture at all. The power light comes on and sound works, but no picture ever shows up.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Tim
