Skittler131 : Icon thank you so much for your information. I did find a crew in my area on the side of the road and stopped to talk to them, it was very helpful, hopefully dsl will be down in my area soon, it goes as far as 4 miles from me so its not all that far away I guess. I was told Im like 6000 feet from the routing terminal so I should get good service once its here they say. Again thanks!!

Andrew

Icon : Andrew, I'm assuming the tech you talked to was a Centurytel employee, and not a contractor? If it was a local tech, and he told you it's not available to you yet, you can believe him over most any other source. Sometimes the records can show incorrect information to the Service Reps when you call in, and the website's records are a direct reflection of the same. It may be that it's available in your area, but you are too far from the remote terminal to get DSL. My advice would be to stop another local tech when you see one, and keep asking for updates for your area.

Good luck!

Skittler131 : I live in Cedar Creek, MO right on the bull shoals lake, I was told by an operator of centurytel that DSL was in fact available on my road and it even says its available on the website, she also told me that she talked to a maintenance crew and they told her it was available but when I talk to a maintenance guy that comes out in this area he advises me its NOT available on my road yet. How do I find out exactly what is true? How do I find out if they are in fact working to get it to my road. The maintenance guy said its available a few miles up the road but not down here yet, please help. I'm in such a rural area that dial up is the only thing I can get and desperately want DSL. Thank you for any help you can give me!

Andrew Walker
