My job is located right on the edge of 3G coverage and there is no seamless switching between EDGE and 3G. Ill drop every other call bc the phone gives preference to 3G over EDGE. When i manually turn off 3G (and when i had the 2G iphone) i have full service on EDGE at work. I read some where that HSDPA has less penetration power than EDGE and this seems to be true at work, when im out side in the open i have 4 of 5 bars. As soon as i walk inside the building my service ranges from NO SERVICE (where it wont hand off to EDGE sometimes) to 3 bars, this also happens when i walk past a couple other small buildings which must be in between me and the tower. Now these aren't giant skyscrapers, im a lifeguard and im talking about a one level lifeguard room and detached bathrooms made from cinder blocks. yes i can just leave the 3G off but being forced to pay an extra service charge for it i should be getting what i pay for |

If you are just on the edge of the 3G coverage area I would have thought twice about buying it. When you are in solid coverage areas you get 3G.
I don't have 3G coverage at my house but I do here at work. I still bought the phone though as I have WiFi at the house. -- "A religious war is like children fighting over who has the strongest imaginary friend."
