maparus : I use a Debian Linux system. I thought I could just use Kshutdown to turn off the computer at 5:30 am and with the 20 minutes of no data being transfered the modem would automaticly shut down on it's own. Not so though, the other night I signed on at 12:05 the computer was turned off at 5:30 but when I got up the computer was off but the modem was still connected. Do I have to set the alarm clock to manually turn off the modem or did I miss something?
