99% of people hold their iPhone wrong, blocking the antenna!

Most people don't know that the iPhone antenna is located on the bottom, both original the iPhone and the iPhone 3G.

If you don't block the bottom, you will get at least twice the reception bars.

TRY IT!

I personally hate tha Apple placed the antenna on the bottom on the new iPhone 3G also

True with many phones, but I wouldn't say you'll get twice the reception by not touching the bottom. Maybe try holding the phone upside-down.

I don't understand why manufacturers (not just talking about Apple) are designing these phones to have antennas placed near the mouth piece. Of course your going to obstruct it... now you also have to worry about how to hold your phone while you talk? Perhaps going back to the old way of putting the antenna at the TOP of the phone would solve some problems. A nice "hidden" option would be to have a tiny antenna at the top of the phone that you could extend so you don't obstruct the signal. Oh wait... that's not in style right? Hard to find these days unlike back in the late 80's 90's era as everyone now is too obsessed on smaller... thinner... sleeker.... shinier....lighter....ect that an extendable antenna is just NOT an option. lol
