| reply to NICK ADSL UK August 2008 Security Releases ISO Image Brief Description This DVD5 ISO image file contains the security updates for Windows released on Windows Update on August 12th, 2008.
Overview This DVD5 ISO image file contains the security updates for Windows released on Windows Update on August 12th, 2008. The image does not contain security updates for other Microsoft products. This DVD5 ISO image is intended for administrators that need to download multiple individual language versions of each security update and that do not use an automated solution such as Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). You can use this ISO image to download multiple updates in all languages at the same time.
Important: Be sure to check the individual security bulletins at »www.microsoft.com/technet/security prior to deployment of these updates to ensure that the files have not been updated at a later date. »www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta···yLang=en -- Wilders Security Forum Admin Microsoft MVP - Consumer Security

4 edits | reply to NICK ADSL UK Well things have been going too well I suppose. First time I've seen a hitch in Microsoft Update(MU). Here it is Thursday and the latest updates haven't downloaded. So I looked at the log and found it littered with phrases like "Update...(blah blah blah) is "Priority" regulated and can NOT download", "Update is not allowed to download due to regulation" and "DnldMgr Regulation: {7971F918-A847-4430-9279-4A52D1EFE18D}"
I've done nothing to my system in a long time. This is the first time MU refused to handle the automatic update routine. I'm always amused at how you can mind your own business, not tinker with your system and not even wander much beyond the borders of DSLreports. Yet one day you look for something that has been working since forever and suddenly you're left to unravel the mystery. So I marched right over to the MU site. After two tries (non specific error on first attempt that page couldn't be loaded), I was able to bring up the MU web page and get my updates manually. Things that make you go hmmm....
