GeekNJPremium join:2000-09-23 Waldwick, NJ | There's no way that change in RWIN made any difference. Switch it back to 65535, save and reboot and retest. If you're seeing any difference, there's an issue that is causing the performance problem and lowering the RWIN is just masking it. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

1 edit | Nope, not RWIN alone, as it was changed back to 65535, with Speakeasy still reporting 1+Mbs.
Could it have been one of the other ten adjustments.
Oh..., I now realize that I reran the Manual Tweak Screen with only DefaultReceiveWindow and TcpWindowSize changed back to 65535, while GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize remained 37752.
+++ New Information: +++ Earthlink said that there was "trouble" on the line from the "central office." Last night, at one point, the speed was measured at 2. kbps -- I'll conclude that they'd been working on it, as it is back to 1.1 Mbs. now. That low speed was after I moved GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize up to 65535. It is now back to 37752 along with Default-RW and TcpW-Size. |
