anon : I just bought an Actiontec modem from Qwest for 60 dollars. Its the m1000. So far it behaves exactly like the 701 it replaced (like butta). I just decided to buy instead of renting it. They send out a new one when you do that. I can buy a wireless module for another 20 dollars. But since I have it going though my old SMC router with a SMC wireless access point on that.. there was no need. My suggestion is just buy it directly from Qwest. I don't think you will get it any cheaper and it will have a one year warranty.

colorbars : I just went to Best Buy today for a new modem/router myself after my old workhorse (a reflashed MSN DSL1000) finally gave out in craptacular fashion. :) There are a few models with the Qwest seal of approval on them. You're looking at $70 for a wired version and $90 for one that includes wireless. I got an Actiontec GT704WG and so far it's working swimmingly, though I haven't played with the wireless part yet.
