I may be wrong about this but there is going to be a second or 2 delay when you are using the DVR because it has to "write" the data to the harddrive and then play it back (this explaining how you can rewind with it).

I alot of times set something to record (like sports stuff)and then I will end up joining the game part way through. By the time I skip all the junk stuff I at some point end up live and I will just hit the Live button on the remote and cancel the recording. I dont think I noticed a big delay like that. If any maybe a couple seconds.

When I switched back to DVR there was about a 30-45 second difference. Does the DVR delay the picture as compared to the TV input?
