This is what I get out of Alltel's service. Slower downloads but it will go up to 1.5mb for 59.95/month and it goes higher. Will invest in an aplifier maybe, already have an antenna booster. Latencies are much better than the test:

And no more streaming radio. Or video. I remember even back in the 1990s a mozilla browser download took over an hour on dialup here -- big difference from wildblue. I don't see how I'd even keep my OSes up to date over dialup anymore...

I changed plans and wildblue thought they should hit me with an extra years contract and tried to tap me for a ETF plus 4 months service that I cancelled in may. IF they have your card number they will bill you even after you cancel and are shut off. I changed information on my account before I cancelled just in case and sure enough they are trying to get me for almost 500 bucks for an early term fee and for the months after may that I cancelled. Keep any paperwork and a log of when you did what all the way down to the time you did it so you have something to back them into a corner with.
