dMarks : One thing you may want to do is switch from Auto to EVDO only if your modem has that option. I'm not sure how Verizon operates their connection managers, but for me it helps prevent (but does not always stop) the modem from switching to 1xRTT mode which is slower with high latency.
--
Windows XP Pro SP2|AMD Athlon 64 FX-57|2GB Dual Channel RAM|2x GeForce 7950 GT 512MB|250GB HDD

anon : I believe your right. Westcliffe is about 8 mi from here and is covered by Alltel. They might have opened up to Verizon users. Lucky me :D

dMarks : Might be a good chance you're picking up an Alltel tower. I'm with Millenicom, which uses Sprint. I used to be able to pull from an Alltel tower out here. As of last week, I can no longer get that tower.
--
Windows XP Pro SP2|AMD Athlon 64 FX-57|2GB Dual Channel RAM|2x GeForce 7950 GT 512MB|250GB HDD

anon : OK thanks. Says I'm running on auto but not going to change it. Still can't figure why I have rev A unless I am now receiving Alltel. They are the main provider for my nearest town.
Richard

anon : Switched to Verizon on 6/30 after Hughesnet lost a satellite (IA6). Installed the UM150 into my laptop and hooked up to 130/60 with pings over 1000ms. I have lived with those since today. We made a short trip to Durango and was able to hook up at evdo revA :D. Just set my puter up back at home and now get revA 800/371 with 371ms. What happened since Mon. morning. Is there something I am missing with the modem? I see posts about a "ctrl d" menu but it asks for a password that I don't know. Can any one help?
Thanks
Richard
