Connection recommendations for international client

Hi guys,

We are a post production company based in Sydney Australia. We are opening an office at an existing office location in Torrance CA and need our own internet connection for VPN access and an onsite FTP server. I am unfamiliar with the services available in the States.

We use a 2mb SHDSL here in Australia for our FTP service as well as an additional ADSL 2 Annex M which gives us 2.5mb/s uplink speed. Are either of these available in California?

What would be the best value for money for at least a 2mb uplink connection? I've been reading a bit about FIOS on these forums. Can anyone recommend a good Service Provider in the Torrance area?

I'd check with Brighthouse and Comcast for cable, and I believe Qwest serves that territory for phone/DSL service, although it looks like some areas of Torrance may be served by FiOS. Really depends on the address of the facility.

there is a sister forum at »ISP b2b etc where you can list the street address and Bell phone number at your new location and sales agents will run quotes for you. post whether or not you want the carrier to provide the router.

Thanks guys, FiOS sounds really good value. Wouldn't involve huge costs in getting the fiber into the building? Chasing this up further and I will check the B2B thread.
