//NEWSWIRE

On August 19 Comcast will launch 15 HD channels in the city of Chicago.

These will all require subscription to Digital Starter.

We also are launching Independent Film Channel HD on Ch. 280; WE HD on Ch. 281; Fuse HD on Ch. 279; Encore HD on Ch. 263; and Fox Business Network on Ch. 264.

Customers will need a subscription to Digital Classic.

We are also launching four HD channels on our Sports Entertainment Package including: NBA TV HD on Ch. 235; NHL Network HD on Ch. 234; Hallmark Movie Channel HD on 227 and Speed Channel HD on 237.

That's awesome!!! If only they could organize their channel lineup in a more comprehensive way. All HD Channels gathered together with no SD channels in between and also organizing the channels per theme. The Comcast Chicago lineup is too disorganized!!!

'Bout time Chicago gets HD! You guys have been all digital for almost a year now, haven't you? Well, Comcast's definition of all digital... first 20-24 analog.

OMG...and the driver behind this is the elimination of analogs...correct?

I continue to believe that if you offer these kinds of lineups to people, Comcast will attract or retain profitable HD customers. The revenue will be much more over time than what they get from disgruntled basic subscribers with their analog sets. Where are the analog holdouts going to go? Answer....nowhere, but the HD subscriber can take their money to several providers.

..sweet..

I was actually in the process of looking for a new provider, Dish Network was looking REALLY good. But FX, Bravo, WE, Fuse and Encore will help keep me there.

..for a minute, until the quality goes in the toilet.
