That is quite interesting.

If CV goes away I just may go to cell only.
I think that is going to be something that a lot of people will be considering. Since cell phones are becoming so commonplace, with Femtocells etc. I really feel not only POTS is in danger but so is anything that is tethered to a fixed wire.
Some people would rather save the 30 bucks a month they are paying to companies like CallVantage and put it towards an unlimited cell minutes plan and have total freedom.
Not a bad idea.

This just looks like the first nail in the coffin.

As a business they need to stem the flow / impact the of any transition.

But I am sure the service will be available to current customers for quite some time.

U-Verse simply doesn't have the coverage that CV has.
Unless AT&T determines CV is a loss and starts announcing EOS so business customers can start their necessary transitions.

Regardless it is interesting...

I've been happy with the service and don't want mine to go away!

But I do expect that any such move would be done in plenty of time to allow customers to port their numbers to the new provider of choice. The question is whether that would move me to only use my * system at home (which so far has been more of a hobby than a 'necessary' item) or try another provider.

But since I know I wouldn't be able to go BACK to CallVantage, I'm not making any move to leave, unless I have to.
