Re: Suddenlink HD Sound Problems

I have the excact same issue in Seattle with Comcast...no cable box, get some local HD channels, but the sound gets digitized every so often. If I change channels and come back to it, it works fine again.

Any help? Comcast said my signal strength was excellent.

here in lufkin Suddenlink has 3 HD channels on "clear-QAM", also all the music channels should come in with a digital tuner. Channel 705-710-720. If they are choppy audio, chances are it is not the TV, but a line problem in your home, have a service man replace that cable with a home run all the way to the groundblock where your splitter should be and that should clear it up.

No cable box at all? Are they broadcast/locals maybe? Which ones do you get? Is the cable hooked up to the ATSC digital tuner of your HDTV?

If so, and you're getting some HD channels, then I think I need to pick up a new tuner card for my HTPC.

Suddenlink pushes some HD through the cable even though I don't have a cable/HD box

so the HD channels you speak of you get through an antenna?

I have SL extended basic cable in East Texas... no HD cable box or anything. I get a few HD channels on my new Samsung LCD HDTV. On those HD channels, there are sound problems where it makes this weird noise. It's like the sound can't keep up or something. The voices are slowed down and distorted.. and the voices are hard to understand almost like they're robotic. This happens randomly and is really annoying. It doesn't happen on the non-HD channels, when I play a DVD, or when I play wii.

Has anyone else experienced this? Will it go away if I upgrade to more HD programming?
