shadowfax : What is youre attenuation ? It looks like you were upgraded to the 6 meg service, but not the 12 meg. 12 meg only works if you are within 6k ft of the dslam, and a attenuation of 32/33 is the limit, 38-40 will be acceptable limits on the 6 meg range. Log into the speedstream and look at the dsl stats, SNR, and attenuation. You always want the SNR to be in double digits, and the lower the att. the better. But for those lucky ones who are on fttp, forget everything you just read !

shadowfax : The problem is, the service rep that took youre order, never created a internal order to dispatch a tech to the dslam to rewire youre line to the adsl2 equipment. Most of the time they get it right, but there are a small percent that slip through the cracks. Call the business office, 8003471991, place a trouble report, and they should dispatch a tech out to the dslam to resolve the issue. As I've said before, always provide a cell number to contact you, schedule a appt time if needed, allow access to the NID, and restrain any loose dogs on the property. All of these factors will make for a smooth process, and makes the techs job much easier.

KaiserZr : Ok I upgraded my internet from the 3Mbs service to the 12Mbs service. They delayed it to give me a new modem. Well after the time when they said they were going to switch me over, after running bandwidth tests I noticed it was the same (averaging around 2.4 - 2.6 Mb/s)...so I called and they said it was supposed happen two days later (which today would be the deadline)

Ok it is today and well it didn't get changed so after making another call they said something about having to switch some from one server or another (I could barely understand the guy because of his accent). Since I was confused about why it was taking so long, I took a look at the modem's management console. I noticed that it isn't connected through PPPoE, but through RFC2684.

My question is could that be a problem?
