Digital Adapter Question

I have already received the maximum number of digital adapters for free (3). My question is will the free digital coverters offered by the government program work with fios. I have 5 tv's in the house, one has a set top box 3 have the free digital adapters and 1 has nothing at the moment. So, If I get a digital converter from best buy will It work?

Thanks for your help and I hope I'm explaining this correctly.

Nope.

Those are for over-the-air broadcasts which uses ATSC. FiOS uses QAM.

To get TV channels thru FIOS, you will need to rent a verizon set top boxes (STB) for each tv. If you still want to view over the air channels thru your DTV boxes, you will need to add an antenna switch to your tv to select the DTV or the STB output.

Not quite true. You can get the local stations, the public/educational/govt channels, several info channels, and the music channels with a QAM tuner. You can also get all the national channels if you lease a cable card and have a TV or STB/DVR that takes cable cards.

And if you use the digital ATSC tuner in the TV, why would you need an antenna switch? All modern TVs have multiple input options. The Verizon STB/DVR connects to the TV via component/HDMI (or S-Video/composite for SD). Connect the antenna to the co-axial connector on the TV and use the ATSC tuner in the TV. Easy enough to change inputs, especially with a programmable remote.

@verizon.net
I have fios and verizon gave me a free adapter for my analog tv that doesn't use a set top box.
