Yeah I read up on the ADSL Wiki, and I was very sad. I think the guy I was talking to did not know what he was talking about. I was pretty clear about asking him how fast the upload rate was. At any rate I will be canceling on Monday. They ran a Cat 5 cable from the phone junction to my house, seems like they could give me a CAT 5 jack to plug into instead of giving me a DSL modem.

I get a faster upload using comcast and I am happy with their download rate.

Verizon has a FiOS package called "Faster Plus"

Get canceling. You do not have a fiber connection, you have an ADSL2+ connection that is fed by fiber in your area. My higher speed availability was about 1 week after they got completely done with the work on site. (I figured they were completely done once the power meter was installed, if you look at the third picture there is a cardboard insert where the meter will go.)

3rd pic - power cabinet to the right and a new cabinet to hold Adtran 1148 DSLAMs and T1 NIUs.

Doesn't look like a setup to get more than 1.5M service to me. Qwest is putting fiber to the neighborhood all over Wyoming, and then feeding these little 1148 DSLAMs with T1s for 1.5M service with a setup that looks exactly like this. The DSLAM cabinet in the 3rd pic and the new xbox (to handle DSLAM xconnects) are what lead me to believe that this is the setup. A fiber fed DSLAM should be in a bigger more weather proof cabinet.

I live on the far north side of Colorado Springs near Union and Woodmen and just upgraded to 7MB. I had the option to go to 12 or 20 also. Guess it all depends on where you live and whether they've finished the upgrades in that area or not.
