| Well, that's all well and good, but I can't figure out how to make a directory to my desktop???? Think I'll just wait until AVG resolves the problem, unless someone can explain to me how to do it.  |

Use Windows Explorer and click on the FOLDER button. Highlight Desktop and you should see all of the files/folders in the right pane that are on your desktop.
File --> New --> Folder then it will have you name the folder.
In this case folder = directory.

Folder is the MS way of saying directory. I would rather say directory as calling it a folder confuses most people it seems to me. |

When you go to make a new one, it doesn't say new "directory", says new "folder". Don't most people use a windows operating system? |

Bloom County | Directories were used for many, many years before MS came along with Win95 or 98 and MS decided to call them folders. I went to college in '93 and in the basic computing classes they were still called directories. |
