Versus/Golf HD Not Subscribed?

Can everyone in the areas that were realigned check to see if you are still getting this channel? It now says Not Subscribed. Did Verizon change their mind about offering this without the Sports Pack?

Someone else in NY reported the same thing on another forum. I pressed info on that station and it said Versus Golf HD is part of the Sports Pack.

Ouch Just a matter of time for the rest of us I guess; perhaps with the phase two HD rollout...

Golf was supposed to be in the sports package, IIRC. When they didn't get split into 2 channels, obviously you can't do that.

Maybe it finally dawned on them that there will be a hell of an uproar if they wait to put golf into sports when the split does occur. Better if they put the combo in, and bring the versus out after the split.

Channel 590 (Versus/Golf HD) comes in here in Summit, NJ though they are currently showing Versus programming. Perhaps Verizon scrambles the channel during Golf Channel programming on channel 590. There's some golf programming later on today so I will see if it gets scrambled then since I do not have the Sports package.

The current Verses/Golf feed will be used just for Verses when Comcast splits the two into separate HD channels later this year.

Is that for certain that Versus HD will occupy that channel? The date for the Versus/Golf HD split is December 8, 2008. I'm a fan of the Indy Car series, which is on Versus next year, and am hoping that Versus HD will not be in the Sports package, just premier.

I called Verizon tonight about the Versus HD channel now saying you are not subscibed here in NY. They told me it is now a part of their extra Sports Package. So they have Versus SD a part of your package but you have to pay $7.99 a month to see it in HD! What a joke!

Is that the case for both VS AND Golf HD or just Golf HD? Are you trying to tune in when it's VS or Golf broadcasting, can you tell?

They are not separating them, it would be too much trouble. It will be like this until the 2 stations split apart in December. I guess the other areas will see the same thing soon.

i have the same problem with the Outdoor channle HD here...but versus HD worked last time I looked.

Now verizon has to clean up the guide so it is friendly because all the "this channel moved to this channel" is really making it hard to view channel listings.

Has anyone opened a Direct Ticket on this? I wonder if longisland27 spoke to a customer service rep who was not informed correctly.

But the Outdoor channel does require the sports package so that's how it should be.

Also, my guide is all cleaned up here (thank goodness).

You mean they're not blacking out just Golf HD (kind of like how they handle blacking out certain games in certain areas) until they're separated? I wonder how I got that idea into my silly little head... Probably because it's a halfway sensible one, ha!

I called Verizon this morning and the tech guy could not understand why I was no longer receiving VS/Golf HD. He information told him I should be receiving it with the local package. He put me on hold and told me he was looking into the matter and would call me back. Verizon left a message on my phone stating that VS/Golf HD is now part of the Sports Package and I would have to pay $7.99 to get the channel in the future. This is such a joke! Only been a customer less than one week and this puts a bad taste in my mouth! How can you take away a channel you were getting and now make it part of another pay package. Is anyone outside of NY have this problem?
