It worked for me. (So much for the spyware Insight told me I had....that is such an easy out for them. It was my fault but it wasn't what they said.)
--
Here I Come to Save the Day!!

superakcraig : So I am still having outages at my home. The last time I called, I was told after doing a "netstat -a", that it would appear that i had spyware on my PC. Well after running spybot, guess what, no spyware which wasn't a big surprise.

Here is something else I have noticed. Here are my outages as recorded by this site:

DOWN 2008-09-01 06:13:29 - 2008-09-01 08:33:33 (140 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-04 05:43:31 - 2008-09-04 08:53:31 (190 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-04 17:23:27 - 2008-09-04 22:13:33 (290 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-05 12:33:35 - 2008-09-05 14:03:50 (90 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-05 14:13:32 - 2008-09-05 17:43:36 (210 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-05 19:03:28 - 2008-09-05 19:33:38 (30 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-05 23:53:35 - 2008-09-06 01:23:38 (90 minutes)
DOWN 2008-09-06 23:23:30 - 2008-09-07 00:21:52 (58 minutes)

Except for the last entry, all outages were divisible by 10. Why would this be? Does this sound like a cable modem issue, or a cable power issue or and insight issue?
--
Here I Come to Save the Day!!

Can you do upload tests? are you using their CA antivirus?

Harold,

No I do not use CA antivirus but when my connection is up and running, I can upload just fine.

So I called earlier today and guess what, they wanted to send a tech to the house to check my line power. They did this just a month ago when I was having problems with my On-demand. The power to the house was fine and it magically fixed itself. I don't believe this a line problem nor do I believe this is a modem or router problem because if I reset both units, I still get nothing. You can see my current history above. I told them to forget it for now, but please document that I called. Why is it all problems need to be solved by a tech coming to the house and when they get there, there isn't anything they can do? Aren't there other routers and switches that can be checked between my house and insight?
--
Here I Come to Save the Day!!
