Odd LAN issue (Age of Mythology)

ScottMo : After a bit of a layoff, my family has been playing Age of Mythology once again. We've got four boxes capable of playing AoM and we've had all 4 going. Recently I bought the Titans expansion pack for cheap at Target. I installed it on two of the computers, updated it with the latest patch from MS and tried to play head-to-head on the LAN. The games can *see* each other (ie: computer A will find Computer B's game) but simply won't connect. The connection screen sits there counting down the 120 second limit and then drops back to the multilayer screen without so much as an explanation. AoM still works in multilayer (ie: it sees the game and connects). According to what I recall from MS's EULA, we should be able to play two computers with one CD.

Any ideas I can try?

Both computers are (spec-wise) more than capable of playing Titans
D-Link router
Wired connection
