Re: Question about Fay for Hayward

Just to keep all this weather stuff in one topic, I'm going to redo your title JM (forgive me - but it's better than multiple threads on the same where folks can't find info).

I'd like to have all our members in the path of the storm checkin' in here

Everyone stay safe

Staying in LaBelle FL and monitoring storm via DSL reports weather web forum. Also various weather sites that are linked on 4052.com
I refuse to pay attention to the Chicken Little school of weather reporting on mass media.
One son in FM says he will leave and go to NC to visit his sister.

Yes the tracking is driving me nuts, theyve had it either going right next to me, or right over me as a tropical storm for the last few updates. Now its more west. And passing by as a cat 1 this time.

I think it may get shifted further west.

So far they are keeping schools open here, but the website states that could change & to keep checking.

They should say something about the schools on the morning news, So I'll be up early enough to find out on that.

As far as the storm, I guess we'll continue to watch things go back and forth until they're sure.

Unfortunately, this really doesn't give people alot of time to prepare.

But like I said, I think this may end up being projected further west.

i've gassed up the mean sw2 just in case, i've had a case of water for a while so i'm good there. I imagine parents are keeping their kids home simply because we dont know anything for certain. I"m going in super early to get some stuff done and leave early to make last minute trips. I have to pick up some meds across town

Still sliding west, seems rather unlikely, we will get more than grazed with some wind and needed rain (haven't had to mow whats left of the lawn in 3 months... Wx Ch said 11" below normal)

Midwest coast FL to Tampa maybe even panhandle I'd be more worried, were there is much more open water, to build up steam.

They threw out the tourists out this morning (SUN), liability thing, but still no resident evacuation order... which again is a liability call... thay don't come drag you out, just give them the you are own your own excuse.

We are told to hate Cuba politically but, geographically very glad its there... storms south of Cuba tend to stay there until they can slide over the lower elevation western end, if not just go straight up the Cuba-Yucatan slot.

Hopefully this will be my last hurricane. My house is up for sale so whenever it sells I will gladly say goodbye to Florida.I have been here for 6 years and I've seen too many storms of every variety.I absolutely love the Winters here but that doesn't make up for all the violent weather the rest of the year.

Lasted about 4 hours and rained and blew pretty good, but never did put down the shutters, though I did move vehicle off the street, which did flood up to the next intersection.

Looks like we aren't going to see any backside at least not for several hours.

So actually good it didn't slide farther west or we would havew gotten much more.

Just saw some footage on CNN and as usual Front St and last block of Duval flooded.

Good to hear Hayward!

Schools are closed tomorrow, and I've just finished boarding up. Haven't caught up with the latest advisories, but at 2pm they were telling merchants to go home & folks to get ready.

schools closed here too. we are on a wait and see mode at work, but we were ordered to bring our laptops home. it's been overcast since about 2pm here, light rain here and there, very little wind. the models look crazy right now, the forcast track even crazier, now it might make a left hook once it gets into georgia

i'm watching a live feed on »www.livenewscameras.com and Miami doesnt look too hot. i think they are in that NE quadrant. camera bumping pretty good

Bah, they still don't know what they want to do here about schools. Will have to wait for tomorrow on that.

The tracks are crazy, one minute it'll be a hurricane the next, not so much. I'll be glad to see this storm gone, driving me nuts LOL.
