Re: [iPhone] 2.0.2 firmware is OUT, Please post outcome

Just updated my iPhone with no problems. No noticeable differences. The only major gripe I have is with typing in the SMS application. Every so often it goes into "slow motion" mode and it takes forever to type. Hopefully this was fixed.

What if only 10% of the phones worked "perfectly" but all of them work to some extent? What if rough handling could cause even the perfect ones to start working poorly?
Much better for Apple to admit some phones could be working better and issue a "software fix' maybe 2 or 3 although they will never claim these "fixes" address the real problem. Keep the situation totally confused and it will go away and they will release another model which people will probably still line up for!
This is not uncommon for any manufacturing company including my own. The likely-hood of this increases greatly with extreme competition.

No problems and I still have Netshare. Yay! I thought for sure that since Netshare is no longer on the App Store that Apple would erase it. Yay!

We'll see if this fixes my frequent Safari crashes.

The real question-was your phone working perfectly before the update, was it working poorly and the update fixed it!

I assume the phone was working poorly and the "update" did not help?

I'm curious, any reason why you don't register?

The update went without a hitch. Though I had a slight scare when my eyeTV quit working. I was afraid I maxed out the USB ports and locked, not only the EyeTV, but the iPhone. In the future I'll make sure I'm using the bare minimum of USB ports.

MY suggestion-
try to return it then file a claim with your card company
2- sue Apple (and AT&T to negate your contract) in small claims court for making false claims
3 wait for the next model PLUS 1 month

Again, was your phone working before the update or poorly and the update fixed it. Simply saying the "update" worked is not helping anyone!

My post was more a warning to not max out your USB ports. I've read many times where people have problems getting through the update. And that may be the source of their problem.

My phone was working fine before the update and seems to be fine after.

Notes on the release follow:

No new settings appear to have been included.

Some users report faster browsing, though this may be due to cleared cache.

Typing lag may be reduced.

Apps don't require updates; NetShare still works.

Transition from music list to Coverflow has changed.

Preparing iPhone for software update... stage. I won't bother going through everything to check what changed. I'll leave that to Macworld, Macuser, TUAW and the rest of them

Done. Ok, I can confirm the change of the transition animation between music list and cover flow view in the iPod app. I liked the old way better, but no big deal. Now it just fades and does not rotate anymore.

Can you elaborate? Does not rotate?

Re: [iPhone] 2.0.2 firmware is OUT, Please post outcome

Well, i had to make a call and it dropped immediately after the other person (landline) picked up. First dropped call ever, as I didn't have any issues of this nature before. This will suck if all of a sudden it starts happening. I called right back and it was fine. Not sure if it could be weather related but we had a severe thunderstorm roll thru here about the same time.

Anyway, I dont know if it was in EDGE or 3G, as the iPhone just covers up that information when you are connected to WiFi.
