| Because after awhile they will leak - water is a GREAT force and it takes a tiny little nick and it will work its way in. At the previous house my mom lived at the phone went out every time it rained a great deal.
In our are of Ohio - they have done a great job of locating them. Usually near streets (farthest away from the house) and very near or in utility easements. |
