Re: DSL or Cable for online gaming? I've used both. Verizon DSL 3/768k, and now with cable 8/512k. Both provided the same performance really. My pings are better with Cable, roughly around 25ms, but DSL was almost as solid. Who told you that cable lags a lot? There is a lot of things that could cause lag. Static on the line, low power levels, severe node congestion, P2P apps running, malware/adware........etc As far as PPPoE it never had any effects on my DSL line, we just switched because of price to speed ratio. |
