[General] VOIP - Computers To Be Given Wake Up Call

I read this really interesting article on PC World News this morning regarding intel creating a component that will wake up a computer when a call is being received.

New technology will now allow computers to wake up from their power-saving sleep state when they receive a phone call over the internet.

My computers run 24/7 at 100% CPU usage.

New tech? I thought Linux OS has been doing this a decade a go on any Intel/AMD CPU platform.

That's great, IF you want to use a PC as a phone.

Just a thought. I am not sure if this is a good idea knowing it takes sometimes for a computer to get ready waking up from a sleep. Unless your VoSP provides a voicemail that you can adjust when to intercept an incoming call, chances are it will kick in after you have heard the 1st ring. OTOH, your caller will probably hang up after too many rings of no answer.
