| POTS Phone Stopped Working
Simply put my dads POTS telephone from Bell stopped working entirely after a pretty ugly storm last night. To sum it up you can't make outgoing calls to anyone, any incoming calls show no caller id but you can answer it and only hear static.
Basically I spent the last two hours talking to India getting nowhere at all. What I need is an actual Bell tech to physically come out and check the bell connections to the house. There's no internal issues I know that for a fact. Now is there any phone # I can call to get someone who wont try and tell me all the problems are because the phone is unplugged? |

| Well I suppose that makes sense. It's just frustrating having to jump through hoops to talk to an english speaking person at bell. Not to mention I had to drive across town to use my phone to do the calling. |

@bell.ca | You can call 611 free from any payphone. Sounds like a major cable fault and the first techs would need to refer it to the group that preform that function. Its much different than the guys who do the regular repair jobs. |

| What a fluke. We managed to get one of the bell techs that drive around in the vans to take a look. Turns out a 3 way splitter in one of the houses was fried and fused right up due to lightning. It was causing feedback to the small brown box you see in front of peoples yards and preventing everyone who is connected to it from having a working phone line. Weirdest thing I've ever seen or heard of. |
