Re: [Opera] Opera 9.52 Released

Maybe, but unless I know the site, java/javascript is off, iframes not allowed, hosts file enabled, avast's shields scanning EVERYTHING, I do not lose sleep at night.
What I am sure of, is I will not run 1.51 or over. Nor will I run ff3, the changes are not to my liking.

Odd that Opera would not have notified you?

Thanks for info, I have been using Opera since the ad-driven free versions, and am not liking the recent changes to it. Staying @ 1.50/1.51, and crossing my fingers.
Goes for FF 3.xx as well, staying at version 2.xx
By using such an old outdated version of Opera, would this not be considered a high security risk?

Thanks for posting notmentat

EUS, glad someone else out there thinks half the changes are crapola of late.

Just did a parallel install alongside 9.27. Most of my earlier 9.5 problems (memory leaks, instability, etc) have been cleared up with 9.52, and it runs far better on the Win98 computer than did the earlier 9.5x versions.

Except -- I'm still unable to print a full-sized web page... all I get is a 1x1-1/2 inch micro-image in the top left of the paper with Win98 and an HP1610 printer. 9.27 still prints fine on the same system and printer. I've tried every conceivable print option and method I can think of, to no avail. Something "broke" with Opera 9.50 and has stayed broken through 9.51 and 9.52 according to various Win98/HP users, based on posts to Opera's browser forum. I submitted bug report 349085 back on 9.50, but nothing has changed thus far.

Also, using the Win98ME version of msimg32.dll in the Opera folder on a Win98FE computer now causes an 'invalid page fault' error every time I exit from Opera 9.52... on 9.50, that did not happen using the same dll the same way. However, removing the dll from the Opera folder cures the error, and the "missing dll" warning that then appears at startup can now be marked to 'permanently ignore' in this version. No ill effects have so far occurred without the ME version of the dll... so far...
