| Such a Deal Why would one choose AT&T DSL with their poor deliverables to begin with, unless they were the only game in town. Come on, DSL download at at 1.5(max) subject to the ever lurking "best efforts clause" and 40.00 a month is no bargain or a package to write home about. Yes AT&T DSL services is hurting because the Cable Cos and Verizion is offering more bag for the buck and DSL isn't a technology that is going to cut it for the majority of Internet users. |

If I had to I would definitely choose AT&T over TW in my area - without a moments hesitation. AT&T is still cheaper than my current DSL. |

| I never thought I be saying this, but I cant wait for Charter to wire up our new neighborhood. AT&T has been awful. Terrible latency. I only get 2/3s of the speed they quoted me and I've had to call them every month becuase they keep changing my speed back to 384k... from 6 meg. Terrible serivce and as soon as Charter gets their act together, AT&T is gone. |

 | reply to jimbo48 1.5 Max?!
Around here, a local provider has 20/1 DSL for $50/month. |

| reply to CylonRed I'm stuck with ELNK via Covad. 3.0 /384 max but its more like 1.0. 290 (on a good day).I'd be quite happy if they could have delivered on what they "promised 6.0 768 when I signed on but countless calls and holds of 2 hrs to the no tech suipport line resulted in a cap of 3.0/384 best(with no promises). No Verizon No AT&T Uverse here, Comcast is here but I dumped them over back to back rate hikes without any change in what they delivered. Their Premium service is 8.0/768 (not avaialbel to me because they haven't strung new cable in 10+ years)and with the ever-present Best effort clause. So sad that I'm here in the midst of the Internet Movers and shakers but can't get real 21st century Internet. |

 | reply to CylonRed In my area, we have Insight (with RR), WOW, and ATT. WOW used to have about the best prices, but most of the WOW evangelists I know got sick of declining service and quality and price hikes and found they got a better deal moving to Insight. I haven't checked WOW's packages lately, but their top tier did offer 10/1 last I checked.
Insight was 7/512 for $45 for TV subs ($10 discount for bundle), but they dropped the discount to $8. Turbo is apparently 15/768 for an additional $10.
I'm on ATT Elite also, which is 6/768 for $35 with POTS at $20 - much better price than cable for Internet and anything over 5 down is usually plenty. I've only managed to get downstream usage over 5 a few times, and that was with several downloads at a time. To me, the extra upstream is worth more than the extra downstream. When Insight announced Turbo I was hoping for 1 down (I'd rather have 5/1 than 30/768 let alone 15/768). |
