(might be the Town & Country motel or Bingo Hall).

It will be interesting to hear how you make out. Like I said, the first time I tried logging in, it worked but has not worked since. Very confusing as I made no changes to TCP/IP settings.

I can no longer get the Cogeco Wifi login screen to appear when trying to access a Wifi hotspot in Burlington. Everything works fine when I use my old laptop with W2K. Have done all updates for Vista including SP1, turned off Windows firewall, A/V program and Vista security to no avail.

Wireless connections show connected to Cogeco WiFi and I get an ip address. Can ping the defulat gateway fine. When I open the web browser and try to go to any bookmark, the page says "Done" at the bottom and "Try Again" in the middle of the page. This laptop has produced the Cogeco login screen once only. I have tried at least 10 times.

I tried clearing cache, all authenticated sessions, cookies, passwords, etc. Same thing happens in IE and Firefox.

I have followed a tip and added a registry entry for ArpRetryCount and set the value to 0. This had no effect.
DHCP settings are the same on the W2K and Vista laptops.
The Vista laptop seems to be fine everywhere else that I have tried including a trip to the Florida Keys. Probably used 10-12 hotspots with no problem.
