The bigger issue here is Karl quoting himself via the NYT. Pretty lame "journalism". More like self-promotion and a huge ego.

I thought the same thing. Can you imagine a newscaster on Fox News trying to sell a story, and then cut away to a video clip of the same newscaster interviewing himself for the story? Ridiculous. But that's the kind of news we have come to know and love here.
