Certainly they work well at dampening the sound, but they immediately block heat dissipation. You can certainly just wrap your PC in a nice blanket - the sounds will be muffled or even disappear - but the heat will accumulate damaging the components. It's always a trade-off between the two.
Consider tucking your PC back further behind the desk (though make sure you have enough airflow)  -- »www.yadus.com

  justin Australian join:1999-05-28 Brooklyn, NY | I don't think they make much impact to heat unless your airflow is bad to begin with. I did it on a sonata case and the temp sensitive fan, which was already spinning at minimal speed, did not increase. Just don't block the airflow, that is all. |
