 | Airave Femtocell free? FYI - The Airave is $99 and does not have any sort of contract. From what I understand after talking to someone about cancelling my account at Sprint, if you call the Customer Retention department saying you will cancel your service, they will happily send you an Airrave FREE but with a 2 yr contract! I think it is worth $99 to avoid a contract. I know some people still don't think it is worth it to pay $4.99 for the device and $20 for unlimited family calling or $10 for individual acct especially if you have a bandwidth cap on your ISP but think of it this way - Home VOIP can easily cost more than $25 (some bundles like Comcast Digital Voice is almost $40 w/ tax) plus a typical VOIP call w/ overhead can use 120-160kb/s while each call on Airave is only at 40kb/s.
The BIGGEST reason to get it is you transmit at a very low power - something like 0.002 watts, saving battery and keeping radiation away from your skull! Or, without it you can blast 100x the power through your skull trying to blast the signal through your thick walls and 50 houses on the way to the tower 2 miles away... your choice! |
