| Isdn isp's Anyone have any current isp's that support ISDN? preferably 128k? I"m thinking of going back to isdn from sprint due to the fact I really would like to play WoW and other games on a stable connection.. I've heard that localnet does isdn, but I cannot find a single thing about it on their site... |

| Localnet does indeed support 128K isdn. I have their service and asked them before I signed up. I just bind both channels, my TA dials, and wham! 128K. |

| netonecom.net right? I think their price went down to $10. They're located about 12 miles from where I work, I'm surprised they have #s in TN. They're decent folks. Small operation.
Regardless of what localnet says though, they do ISDN. In some areas both channels won't bond, but you have to just try it and see. For me, they do. And yeah, one account. Just sign up online and be done. $99/year if you get it at the right time. Can't be beat, IMO.
Of course, netone is good too. They know what ISDN is. |

If they are higher, its not by much and the fact the guy was well aware what isdn was and even talked about his frustrations about getting broadband in his area (( hes doomed, less wimax kicks it off good )).. I paid for a years service in advance (( if nothing else, it will piss off murphey and make dsl/cable roll out here, they are soo close )) |

I tried localnet when EV1 out of Houston stopped offering dialup services. I could not connect with both channels. Technical support confirmed that I would not be able to connect with both channels using the local Houston dialup numbers. As others have stated, sometimes dual channel works and sometimes it doesn't.
I then went with AT&T Yahoo Dialup (formerly SBC Dialup)and use a Houston number. I have used them for a couple of years now and have had no problems. They allow two sign ons at the same time for dual channel. You cannot call them and ask for ISDN as nobody will understand you. I used to pay $9.95 but they went up to $15.95. I do not know what they are charging for new accounts at the moment.

And yeah, broadband is hopeless.
My standard rant: I'm 5 miles away from the expressway, meijer, walmart, home depot, subway, alltel, MC sports, abc warehouse, dunhams, and more........and I can't get ANY form of broadband. Arg....... |

Sorry haven't been here for a while. No, I only get charged $9.95/month. I don't log in with two usernames. I just have configured my ISDN TA to bind both channels. Just ask for an account don't tell them what your using as most people don't have the first clue what ISDN is. |

I'm a newbie here. I wanting to get off satellite and trying to make since of the isdn requirements.
If I get isdn from ATT then do I also need an isp?
If dialing an ISP is long distance on a normal phone line then is it also long distance over a isdn?

kudos:1 | The isdn line is basically a digital phone line for you.. So, yes you still need an isp for internet.. And best to get a local number for the isp you choose... Long distance is long distance. |

Yes, ATT will only supply you with an ISDN line. You will still need an ISP although you can get ATT dialup which is different than the ISDN line. I have an ATT ISDN line and ATT dialup as the ISP.

It depends on where your exchange is for the ISDN line. I live ~60 miles from Houston and it is long distance for me to call Houston on my normal line. My ISDN line is a Houston line and therefore not long distance to Houston but is long distance back to my normal exchange. I use ISP numbers local to Houston. |

just sign up for a msn dialup account , they dont know or dont care , been working for me for years , pops both 64 k channels without a hitch |
