Re: Judge makes it harder to issue copyright takedown notices Yeah, but you forget the fact that content providers brought this upon themselves by using the powers of the DMCA far to widely. The judge in this case has just established a line that should have existed from day one - that the content be verified that it is what it is and that it is covered by a copyright. Simply performing a mass search for content with a name similar to a property they own and then asking for the take down of material that matches their broad searches is just plain abuse because it operates on the assumption that something named "Lost", for example, is some how related to the show "Lost" -- --- Eleven years of carrying The Clue Bat... |
