How to get chewing gum out of jeans?

I accidentally sat on some used chewing gum outside my building last night when hanging out with a friend. Getting up, I noticed something was off in the ass region. Turns out I now have gum stuck to the back of my jeans! It's not a terrible amount but certainly not something I want to just leave there. Would anyone know of a good method to get rid of it? I thought of perhaps freezing the pants in the freezer and then trying to smash the gum to get rid of it.. or pry it off. Steam might work too somehow :/

Freeze it and pry it off, if the remnants are too soft freeze again and use an old toothbrush to get the remaining little bits. As long as it's not ground in that should do it. If it is ground in you will have to use a solvent such as lighter fluid as the third step.

You could try to burn it off.

Peanut butter.
If you leave it long enough the gum should break down. Though you might end up with oil stains from the PB.

Yes, peanut butter or corn oil even Murphy's oil soap, you can put it on and scrape it off then wash to get the oil out.

Goo Gone or I'd try putting and ice cube on it and chipping it away. Or freezing like suggested above.

If you have a can of dust-off, take the jeans and the dust off outside, spray about a 30 second burst of the dust-off directly on the gum with the tip of the spray straw against the gum. (Don't be smoking as you do this.)

Then check to see how hard the gum is, if its hard enough it should pull off. If not hard enough, blast it some more until it is hard enough to pull off.

Another vote for peanut butter.

The oil in the peanut butter will loosen the gum and you should be able to scrape it off then.

Try any kind of solvent on an area that won't be noticed, like the inside of the waistband before using it on the gum. Most of the time the solvent will work, but it will also discolor the denim.

I don't have any peanut butter (because I hate it! Don't like peanuts.. :/), but I do have Goo Gone and I have "Oranj Peelz" degreaser that I use to degrease the chain on my bike and then regrease it with T-9. Freezing might be a good idea. I also have a can of pressurized air.. if I turn it upside down and spray, it gets extremely cold. That MIGHT work. Just spraying it with air I doubt will do anything.

Re: How to get chewing gum out of jeans?

Iron it off by placing a thick piece of paper or paper bag between the iron and the gum/clothing. The gum will soften and be absorbed by the paper. Done this many of times.

WD-40 reportedly works well for gum. Spray it on, let it set for a while, then scrape off gum.
