It depends? Do you want that same neighbor to report you for over watering?

I don't want to start a war...most people are "over watering" if you want to get very technical. I just want this person to control the dog..i might get the device that will control but it would nicer if she did it. So basically will try to report anonymously and hope that works.

I have two of those. I tried one with the neighbors barkomatic and it seemed to help for a while then it went back to barking 24/7. So I wound up buying a second for the purpose of doubling the coverage and volume but they got rid of the mut before I even had a chance to take it out of the box.

If it it between 9 am to 11 pm there probably not much you can do about it. Dogs are allowed to bark at that time as you say.

During the day is fine...dog can bark. Got no problem with that. It's dog barking at night that is bugging me.

actually, dogs can be a noise nuisance at any time of the day. it's just harder to make a case during business hours.

Have you tried talking to the neighbor? A friendly discussion can go a long way. If you report him without at least making an attempt to talk to him you WILL have a neighbor with a grudge who will look for opportunities to report you. (And I have a feeling he'll have a menu to choose from).

No i haven't talked to her. She seem to want to avoid in communicating to anyone When neighbors are having small talk outside while enjoying fresh air, she will on purpose cross the street to avoid us. Never says hi or anything so can't talk to someone that don't want to talk to you. As for her picking on issue to report. Only thing they can pick on is watering as i usually water in summer 2 times a day(been cutting down now as weather is getting cooler). Otherwise have no violation that can be reported.

At least make the effort to go knock on her door, introduce yourself and make the problem known to her in person. If she's not receptive or won't do anything, then report her.

Believe me, nasty neighbors can either be extremely nitpicky in their reporting or they can make stuff up wholesale just for the sake of harassment. You really don't want to make an enemy unnecessarily.

Well, don't expect animal control to actually respect your wish for anonymity. We have a friend who reported an ex-girlfriend for having an illegal dog kennel (IOW, too many dogs) and the the first thing out of the responding officer's mouth was "Mr _____ has filed a complaint about an illegal dog kennel."

Far better to try to talk to the neighbor yourself first.

Update: She was walking the dog today and i introduce myself to her. Basically she said, she can't do anything about the dog as it's natural for dog to bark when it wants:( She also says, no one else have talked to her about the dog. That is likely true, as she avoids everyone and never says hi . Oh well i tried, guess time to take it to the next level and i was hopping to resolve it nicely.

She's full of crap about not being able to control it's barking. She sounds like she's unwilling to take the time to train it.

She sounds like one of those hippy types that allow their children to smear their shit on the wall or throw their food because they're "just expressing themselves".

You did the best you could. Unfortunately there are people who have no clue how to properly train dogs who own them and they generally tend to be inconsiderate of others as well.

A lot of neighbors that live around her are getting pissed, so soon multiple complains will start flying and all we wanted was for her to just make an effort.

Perhaps more should have made the effort to talk to her about it. It really is no big deal to go knock on someone doors with a polite request. Sometimes you're pleasantly surprised and discover the person is not as bad as you think and that there is a reason they avoid community gatherings and other times they prove to be negative.

I do hate HOA's but this is one case in which they would be helpful
