Default seach engine? Is this for 2-year olds?

Ok, this is 2008, and we've only matured to the point where an entire mobile carrier has to have a default search engine? What does this even mean? Can't one simply browse to yahoo.com or some other such search engine?

Re: Default seach engine? Is this for 2-year olds?

Google does these deals even with web browser programmers- that's why Mozilla Firefox comes with Google as the default search engine. I guess this kind of deal falls into a similar category- you can use yahoo.com, but Google is hoping that you'll just fall into the path of least resistance
