jc100 : Let's start. My first person was George Bush Sr. Did you not bother reading?

Second.. YOU ARE QUOTING TJ JUNK MAIL'S Blog as PROOF??? WOW. That's a NEW ONE!!! He doesn't know truth if it bit him in the ass.

Let's just Start with Bush Jr since you concertedly SKIPPED his Dad.

1) Americans were SPENDING... MONEY THEY DID NOT HAVE. Hence the Housing Market Crash due to UNCHECKED lending industry.

2) Gas Prices Started out at 1 Dollar in 2000 and are now 4 dollars NOT due to the Democrats. They had Increased LONG before. We saw 3.60 a Gallon before they took office. Nice try though.

3) Consumer Confidence has been at all time lows actually. Look at the Standard and Poors index. People aren't too happy. Inflation under Bush has been at around 20 percent on many things. Don't blame the new Congress. They just took over in November. Bush and his Republican Congress seeded this crap for the past 7.5 years.

4) Bush's Deficit. Do you not recall it was a REPUBLICAN Congress? Yea, I guess not. Bush didn't seem to be saying no to spending the money, DID HE?

5) Americans are building a portfolio.. One of Poverty and Despair. See above for how the dollar HAS HIT a 26 year record low... NOT UNDER DEMOCRATS, but Republicans. That means inflation once again is at an ALL TIME HIGH.

6) Iraq NEVER OPENLY ADMITTED TO ANYTHING TO DO WITH TERRORISM... Proof please.

7)Guantanamo Bay is anything but club med. Its a black eye to America and it's world policies. We are setting a precedent that locking people up, giving them sham trials, allowing torture, and laughing about it is all right. What do you lose from giving people a FAIR TRIAL? Nothing. Anyway, this sets a dangerous precedent for our own people. Don't expect our soldiers to get proper treatment from any countries where they get captured these days. What's good for the U.S, is good for the rest on violating Geneva Convention, right?

8) Georgia's Break aways HAVE NOT BEEN IN Georgia's control since the Soviet Union Fell. That doesn't make them part of Georgia. It's just has been no one has recognized their sovereignty. Yet, under a 1992 agreement, Russia has been allowed forces in these parts. Georgia should have left well enough alone. They didn't, and got their ass handed to them. Tough luck. Bush invaded SOVEREIGN nations. Last I checked, Iraq and Afghanistan weren't even PROTECTORATES at the time the U.S. invaded.

Last, this goes to show how IGNORANT you really are. First you use TK Junk mail as your source. Where is ANY LINK TO SUBSTANTIATE a thing you claimed or he claimed... Funny. I'd like a time frame on all those statements and proof to go along with it......

Yet, here's the best one. It was called the IRAN CONTRA CRISIS YOU HISTORICAL DIM WIT! Can we say Oliver North!!

That's not to say Democrats and Republicans will always be the two parties, but with voting it's always gonna end up as two parties. It's just simple logic and human nature.

For example, take parties A (smallest), B, and C (B & C are about equal). Parties B and C are gonna do everything they can to get voters from A to come to their group. Now say if some people go to party B to where they have the most -- this means both A and C will lose. If anyone in A doesn't want B to win, they'll go to C to hopefully overcome B. That leaves A with less and less people.

Don't get me wrong -- I'd love to have more than two real choices even though I (mostly) agree with Obama, but it just isn't gonna happen as people vote just as much against someone as they vote for someone else, if not more.
jc100 : Conservative is just another name for Republican, let's face it. We've seen that party tout their "Conservative" Nature since Regan and look what that got us.

Regan

1) Olive North and Arms Trading to Iran
2) Funding the Sandistas and propping to power Dictators in South America
3) Our first Trillion Dollar Deficit

Bush Sr.

1) Kuwait
2) More trillion Dollar Deficit
3) Crapped Economy

Bush Jr.

1) Iraq - Nothing to do with 9/11 or Terror
2) Afghanistan - Maybe a link. Don't get me wrong, Democrats aren't usually a whole lot better, especially the one's we got now. I can't stand that Obama Supported Fisa and his VP is Anti everything technology and voted for Iraq. Yet, McCain is all that plus supporting torture and wanting to extend Iraq. Both our choices suck.

I consider myself wanting someone WHO ISN'T affiliated with a "party" but is there to serve the people. Since 3rd parties won't ever win (sigh) and change the pattern, I definitely don't consider myself conservative. At least I can stay Abortion Rights, No Religion in School (School is there to learn, NOT DEBATE "GOD".. Pay for a Private school if you want that), and support of Marriage for all is still Democratic Stances. These seem to be the only ones they haven't yet SCREWED UP. Yes, the Democrats SUCK as bad as the Right. Being a "Conservative", I'm sure you disagree with those stances.

Tsume : Sadly though, the most prominent democrat (Obama) in our media gave a YAY!! (presumably because some teleco gave him some cha-ching).

In terms of parties, I'm a neither. Claiming to be a conservative or liberal (or do they like the term "progressive" I never figured that out) is probably a bs claim for a good majority of the population. The only reason people take the side of "conservative" or "liberal" is because we have a two candidate system in our elections. It's either the republican candidate wins or the democrat candidate wins.

Conserving implies that you want to keep everything the same as it is now, and right now it's broken (of course they've strayed from this principle a lot in the past 20 years) "Progressive" implies the liberal use of the "yay" vote on unnecessary, constitution-destroying legislation, and the introduction of such legislation as well.

I'm a Libertarian. I like the liberties given to me by the constitution, and I'd like to get my rights back.

One of these rights would be privacy, and I'm appalled at both Obama's and Biden's respective voting records. No, McCain is not any better.

mxmumtuna : These stances are not so much a conservative vs. liberal issue, they're not even a Democrat vs. Republican issue. If you look at FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) for example, which (among other things) gave broad immunity to the telcos for their wiretapping without warrants - crossed party lines - though, all the nay votes came from Democrats.

The fact is, there are very few legislators that truly take up the anti-RIAA and anti-MPAA cause. Even fewer who would stand up for privacy rights, and risk being labeled as "un-American" for being "soft on terror/crime/etc".
--
»www.brambletonian.net - Brambleton, VA - First FTTH community in the US
