Depends on the state you're in. Some states require that the electoral college vote reflect the popular vote.

I was under the impression that when you voted for president, you were actually voting for a "slate" of electors who would represent your state in the Electoral College... which is a somewhat roundabout way of going about it...

I do like the National Popular Vote bill, but I fear that it will even if voted in will get overturned under the claim that all states must have a democratic form of government, while with NPV a states' electors could go against the will of the majority of the people in the state if the state's majority votes for the losing candidate.
