| Worthwhile to adjust for better signal?
Background: Have had hughesnet for over 2 years now. Overall fairly satisfied with the service. Only other option is dialup, anyway. SS used to max @ 47, now sometimes max @ 50 (but very variable) since transponder change due to IA6 problems.
Rain fade starting to bug me, especially since tropical storm Fay moved through the area.
Installer spent most of a day here setting everything up back then, seemed frustrated, but finally said the signal was the best he could do.
Would it be wise for me to try to resight the dish for better signal? Or a collosal waste of time? I have no fantastic knowledge of this system other than what I have read here, but I can follow instruction. -- HN7000S/PRO Plan/93W - 1039/.98m dish/1 watt |

| A SQF of 47 on a .98 seems very low to me.
What process did the tech go thru to peak your antenna?
It's been my experience that most consumer installers have a LOT of trouble peaking the commercial style antennas.
BTW, I'll be in Lake City tomorrow doing a Sherwin Williams site, for the small sum of $1299999.95 I'll be glad to do a side trip by your place! -- I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I'm not sure about is that what you heard isn't exactly what I meant. |

| LOL. I have no idea what he did, at the time I had absolutely no knowledge of satellite internet, other than I needed something better than dialup.
I don't think I can quite scrape up that amount of money at this time. -- HN7000S/PRO Plan/93W - 1039/.98m dish/1 watt |
