Drex : I went to levelized billing a couple months ago b/c I knew this summer would be just as bad as last summer. I have a small 1400 sq ft home. I just recently upgraded our A/C to a better more efficient unit. Had I not gone to levelized billing, my electric bill would have been ~ $350 for last month. ~$250 of that was the "Fuel Adjustment Charge". It's basically the cost of natural gas b/c we get our electricity from natural gas burning plants. So when natural gas prices go up, they pass that charge along to the customer. They claim it's a pass thru charge and that they make no profit off it. Yeah, I'd like to see the books on that one.
--
I gave up drinking and eating bad food.
