Re: Review AT&T U-Verse I am wondering why you never came here to ask for help. Sounds like your site is just ranting on several things without any real request for help and assuming that because your service was like that, that is how it always and is supposed to work for everyone.
-Slow, inconsistent internet speeds via AT&T wireless gateway
My wireless consistently gave me ~9.5Mb/s down and 1.5Mb/s up as well as a strong signal to deal with around the whole house. Many times wireless problems could also be a factor of the RF environment it is in. It sounds like you had a previous Linksys router, did you ever try using it as an AP on your network?
-Long, multi-day installation process is common
The typical install only ranges from a couple of hours to maybe 6, not days.
-Rewiring of cable & phone lines typically required
Typically, yes. However, the extent of most 'rewires' is just rearranging a few things, not a complete rewire.
-4 TVs can work at the same time (what if you have 6 TVs?) Common problem, with some validity. You can have as many TVs on as you want, just that only 4 streams can be coming in at once
-2 HD TVs can work at the same time (what if you have 3 HD TVs?) Another common problem with the same explanation above.
-Large, external box required for each TV Large? Have you seen the new Motorola DCH line of cable boxes? Unless you have an IPTV ready TV, then you will need a STB.
-Compatibility issues with World of Warcraft (WoW) I never used WoW, but I haven't heard too many other people complain about it.
-May not work with X-Box By reading your site, this is linked to your wireless problems, not something AT&T was doing. I played on XBL just fine, as do many others.
-You are volunteering for technological experimentation As with any new product (though not necessarily 'new' anymore), there will be quirks. |

I have quite a little army of volunteers. |

xbox live works flawlessly, i can host 16 player matches on halo 3 & cod4, gears, and guitar hero 3 also work great for me.
WoW also works - my friend was playing at my house the other day on his laptop. |
