If you go to a Dry Loop, your satellite system will not be able to call home afaik.

I got a reply if I go Dry Loop my satellite system will not be able to call home, does that mean if I do a dry loop the
Dish will not work. I'm not a very technical person so I need to know in plain english.

I'm not very familiar with DISH, but I think it really only uses the phone line for the TV Guide updates and updates to the box. Not sure though.
