20/5 or 15/2?

I've had FiOS for over a year and my 15/2 plan bill just went from $49.99 to $57.99. According to verzion.com, that price point is for 20/5 (I don't have the phone service). I'm still at 15/2 though. Am I supposed to be automatically upgraded to the new speed? Does a $49.99 for 15/2 still exist? Thanks.

Don't assume you will be upgraded automatically, you will not. You would ask for it making sure there's no extra cost than your current plan. Good luck.

I just asked and they upped me to 20/5 from 15/2 at no cost (I already was paying the $52.97 thereabouts per month). Your price sounds like the month-to-month price. I called in the morning and speed was up when I got home.

$57.99 is the month to month/no contract price. Your contract has expired. Call tomorrow and ask to have it extended, as you weren't email notified that it was expiring. I expect they will put you on a new contract at $52.99. If they do request the 20/5, as you will be at current contract price.

Should they somehow be able to extend you at the $49.99 price (which I doubt), then you will have a decision to make, as they will not upgrade you to 20/5, unless they also move you to current pricing at $52.99.
