What do you mean spread to satellite? You have been able to get free installs for awhile now. I just signed up for Dish's HD Absolute w/ DVR & Locals a few months ago. I paid no up front costs and simply pay $42.XX monthly for the majority of their HD stations. I didn't even have to pay for the first month. |

Every time I have looked into getting satellite based HD service I have always been asked to buy the boxes. I don't know if that is still the case now though, as I have not looked in the past few months, so maybe things have changed.
Let's go on the assumption that I would still have to purchase the equipment. Even if I got the one box at a discount I would to purchase at least 2. That alone would mean a significant outflow of cash out of my pocket.
On top of that, if I decided I did not like the service, then I would be stuck with a box that would not work with any other provider. -- "At the moment of conception." |
